Gwen Sloan (she/her) is a costume designer and technician originally hailing from southwestern Missouri with a B.A. in Theatre and History from Drury University and an MFA in Design & Technology with an emphasis is Costumes and secondary in Scenic  from California State University, Fullerton where she also served as a Graduate and Teaching Assistant.

 

Previously, she served as the resident costume designer at the Chance Theater in Anaheim before returning to the Kansas City Metro Area. Other selected past professional credits include Costume Shop Manager at Santa Cruz Shakespeare; shop assistant at Cerritos College; coordination, assisting, and stitching roles at Musical Theater West; and Wardrobe Supervisor at the Hangar Theater Company.​

 

Gwen is passionate about the way that costumes in theatre can push an audience's limits and broadcast new perspectives to a diverse viewership. Gwen also believes that costumers everywhere must work to make theatre and film more accessible for everybody as well as every body.

Her favorite projects are those that have something new to say; Gwen loves a challenging script, an inventive concept, and a team that plays together.
